❄️Help us keep food cool this summer!❄️
🌡️Fresno, California, averages hot to sweltering (90 to over 100 degrees) from May to October.
🍊We are currently saving 15,000+ pounds of fruit per week that would have just fallen to the ground or been thrown away.
🤝These fruits are reaching around 4,000+ neighbors throughout the Fresno area via:
🛒 Food pantries (Poverello House, Central California Food Bank, Raisin City Food Distribution Center)
🫶 Community-serving organizations (The Ronald McDonald House Charity, Our Father’s Foster Care)
⛪ Faith-based organizations (Temple Beth Israel, The Big Red Church, Grace Bound, New Beginnings, Breaking Free Revival Center, Wesley Methodist, Access Church, University Presbyterian)
🏫 School districts (Parlier School District, Dailey Charter Elementary)
⚕️Nurses and health care workers (Premium Cancer Care)
🏡 Senior housing (The Californian, Belmar Villa Assisted Living, Adult Day Health Care of Madera)
🍴And many more!
We do not currently have cold storage–we’ve been working to pick up and distribute fresh food the same day. This is not only time-consuming, but also prevents us from taking advantage of opportunities to rescue food.
Thanks to the folks at the Good People Fund, we are nearly to our $12,000 goal to purchase a cold storage unit. Help us reach our goal today!
